PLAN YOUR VISIT

Hours

The Outdoor Gardens are open to the public every day, including holidays.  Please abide by all College policies.  Dogs should be leashed. All dog waste, food, and other trash are carry-out only.  Please stay on paths, and contact us in advance for any larger groups, events, or professional photography. We do not host weddings - please seek alternate garden venues, such as Elm Bank.

All Greenhouses and buildings, including the WCBG Visitor Center, are currently closed to the public.  We expect to open in early Nov 2022.  Thank you for your patience as we undergo significant construction work.

How to get here

Search "WCBG Visitor Center" on Google Maps to find our visitor center, located by the East entrance of the Science Center.
The Global Flora entrance is attached to the Visitor Center, and has an entrance to the right of the Visitor Center main entrance.
The Teaching and Research Greenhouses (campus access only) entrance is the first double gray doors inside the East entrance of the Science Center (i.e. the Frost Center for the Environment).

Search "Edible Ecosystem" on Google Maps to find the Edible Ecosystem Teaching Garden: HOWEVER note that paths / walking directions to this garden are often inaccurate in Google maps.  This garden is located just downslope of the Observatory building - enter via the main gravel path (wheelchair accessible) from the sidewalk between the North entrance of the Science Center and Observatory/Whitin House, or enter via the bamboo arch entrance using the asphalt path between Paramecium Pond and the Maple Swamp.

By Public Transit

Wellesley College is located a short walk from the Wellesley Square commuter rail station.  There are several entrances into the College; entering through the Gate at the intersection of Central St. and Weston will lead you onto Fiske path; the Botanic Gardens is along your right - look for signs to enter the Arboretum or Botanic Gardens.

To find the Visitor Center, look for "Global Flora and Visitor Center" on the campus map linked below, or find "WCBG Visitor Center" on Google maps.

By Car - Parking

Visitors may park for free at the campus Davis parking garage or in the parking lots by the College Club and elsewhere on campus when gates are open.
