The importance of belonging

Wellesley students come from all across the country (48 states to be precise!) and from over 50 countries all around the world (making up 13% of our student body!). 57% are domestic students of color, and 21% are first-generation college students. Nearly 60% of our students receive financial aid. We offer dozens of cultural clubs and 13 religious organizations; not to mention houses or spaces for students of African descent, international students, Latinx students, Asian students, and LGBTQIA+ students that host events open to the entire community; and resources like the peer-led Inclusion Initiative and the First Generation/Low Income Network. In short: Our commitment to a community where everyone matters is very real.
