Christine Rubera
Christine ‘Halle’ Rubera is a senior studying Political Science and Africana Studies.

This past summer, she was a recipient of the Davis Projects for Peace grant. She worked at a local community in Gahini, Rwanda on several initiatives. She constructed a sick room to promote health and sanitation at a high school. Additionally, she renovated public restrooms at the community youth center which hosts a public library and vocational training center. Follow this link for more details on her work in Rwanda: www.eduforpeace.eduAt Wellesley, she has held the elected positions of Africa Area representative with the International Students’ Organization, and First-Year Coordinator for the Wellesley African Students’ Association. Additionally, she was one of the public speaking tutors working with students to improve their presentation skills. Halle is passionate about universal education and hopes to go into public service working to improve education outcomes in under-resourced schools.
