Cielo Chavarria ’25

Cielo Chavarria
Cielo Chavarria is a junior double majoring in Political Science and English.

In the summer of 2023, Cielo worked as a Press Intern for Senator Alex Padilla’s Washington D.C. Office, where she supported the Communications Team with drafting press releases, assisted with media monitoring, and created social media content. Cielo’s English/Spanish bilingual and bicultural background allowed her to help expand outreach to California’s diverse community. A firm believer in accessible politics, while serving as an intern with Public Advocates Inc., a nonpprofit civil rights law firm, Cielo translated complex legal and policy language into community-friendly communication materials explaining essential rights, including the right of students to serve on school boards. On campus, Cielo serves as a Student Representative to the Board of Trustees Campus and Finance Committee, where she discusses student priorities and concerns in funding decisions and campus-wide projects. Cielo intends to attend law school in the future and hopes to devote herself to public interest work. At Wellesley, Cielo loves participating in Wellesley’s College Government, hosting a weekly radio show on WZLY, and discussing baseball (the Dodgers) with her friends.
