Courtney Yang
Courtney is a Political Science major and History minor, focusing on political economy and human rights-based approaches to development.

She is currently studying at Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan and interning at National Commission for Women and Children of the Royal Government of Bhutan. As an intern in the Children Division, she assists with policy related to child welfare and has supported Bhutan's reporting process to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. In the summer of 2022, Courtney interned as a research assistant analyzing current negotiations at the WIPO, WHO, and TRIPS Council at the WTO on the global governance of intellectual property and its implications for Covid-19 vaccine access in low-income countries. On campus, Courtney works as a student assistant in the History Department. In the spring of 2023, she plans to study in Geneva, Switzerland. In the future, Courtney seeks to conduct research in trade and development.
