Paula DeAnda
Paula is a junior majoring in Astrophysics with a minor in Latin American Studies.

During the summers of 2018 and 2019, Paula worked as the Special Events Intern at Breakthrough Houston where she helped coordinate field trips and programming for hundreds of underserved students. On campus, Paula is a Posse scholar and works to promote inclusivity within the sciences as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Inclusive Excellence Intern, a co-Inclusivity Chair of ASTRO Club, and as an Orientation Mentor. Paula works as a Physics tutor, a teacher at the Child Study Center, and spends most of her free time in McAfee, where she was an RA as a sophomore. Paula is fluent in Spanish and is excited to study abroad in Spain during the spring of her junior year. She hopes to spend her summer in Chile, engaging in astronomy outreach with underserved students and indigenous peoples.
