Pranathi Chintalapudi
Pranathi is a junior majoring in Economics with a focus on sustainable and human rights-based approaches to development.

In the Spring of 2023, Pranathi worked as a research assistant in the Environmental Studies Department, where she evaluated the US electric vehicle supply chain response to the Inflation Reduction Act and designed the first publicly accessible dashboard displaying data on this subject. Through this role, she even had the opportunity to brief White House Office of Science and Technology Policy staff on data transparency, accessibility, and accountability in the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act. Currently, she is applying her research experience to her new research assistant role at MIT, where she analyzes the impact of environmental regulation in India on economic welfare. On campus, she leads SHaRE, a student organization that promotes harm reduction and safer substance use. She is proficient in French and has a working knowledge of Hindi and Telugu. Upon graduation, Pranathi hopes to work with an international organization researching development policy and eventually pursue an advanced degree in international affairs.
