In addition to software that probably came with your computer, in particular, Word and Excel, you might wish to add the following to your computer:
Chime Plug-In - this plug-in enables you to view molecular structures in 3D, to rotate, examine, and render the structure in a variety of formats. In order to download the plug-in you need to register (free) here.
ISIS-Draw - draw structures in 2-D; download at the same site as Chime
Jmol - another option for viewing molecular structures; download here
Rasmol - the original 3D molecular viewer; download here
Orbital Viewer - render atomic and molecular orbitals in 3D; download here (PC only)
