Hello! My name is Andrea Kine, a junior at Wellesley College. I’m a Biological Chemistry major, with an interest in Africana Studies and Italian. The reason I joined the Tetel lab is because research experience is an excellent opportunity to equip me with the necessary tools to become a skilled researcher in the near future. I joined the Tetel lab during my first year as a volunteer. During my sophomore year, I was awarded the Early Sophomore Research Grant, which gave me the opportunity to work hand in hand with Christina Sun '11. My time in the lab with her was spent on investigating the role of membrane estrogen receptors in estrogen signaling using a transgenic mouse that expressed membrane only estrogen receptor-α (MOER).
This year, I will be continuing to work on the project and also start my new project.
