Launch of Distinguished Thinkers program

The Newhouse Center inaugurates its 10th year anniversary celebrations with its new Distinguished Thinkers program, which presents the award winning novelist, Amitav Ghosh. The Center brings accomplished artists, novelists, playwrights, poets, critics, journalists, musicians and others to imbue our community with their ways of thinking. The next visitor on this program will be Sir Salman Rushdie.

Carol Dougherty Ends Term as Newhouse Director

Carol DoughertyAfter six years of exciting programming, Carol Dougherty, William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Classical Studies, will step down as Newhouse Center Director.  Her legacy includes the Distinguished Writers Series, the Newhouse Salon Series, the Mellon Visiting Artist Residency, and numerous lectures and conferences.  In addition, she supported faculty working groups and book projects, and brought prestigious and engaging scholars to campus as Newhouse Resident Fellows.  We are pleased to announce that the incoming Newhouse Center Director will be Professor of French and Francophone Studies Anjali Prabhu
