Joan Saltman Levy ’49
- 1940s

My story for Wellesley 150 is about my mother, Joan Saltman Levy, class of 1949. Mom was prouder of her affiliation with Wellesley than anything else, save perhaps for her children. Although she lived in Texas for almost 60 years after graduating, she attended all of her reunions, including her 75th in 2024. She is pictured, in red, with her beloved roommates from Severance—Sandy Pletman Rosenblum and Gretchen Rous Besser, both of ’49—at her 75th. To lead the parade in a Woody was just one of many unforgettable moments. I am grateful to share this story, as mom passed away in June 2025 at age 97, only a year after this joyous occasion.
