Life is an ongoing series of encounters with “No.” However, at Wellesley the stars aligned for me to meet Professor Richard French who was the first supporter in my life and the first person to say “Yes” to my dreams, specifically of pursuing astrophysics. With the poetry of a few of his words at crucial junctions in my life and more supporters, I have been able to say yes to my dreams, a McGill PhD in theoretical cosmology, a CITA post-doc, a career in writing, and now a life in opera. My life did not go as planned, but Wellesley was the first place I crossed paths with the support I needed to create and pursue dreams. I met my soulmate and biggest supporter, Andrew Frey, as an undergraduate researcher. At Wellesley I heard my first “Yes,” and now I have the support to continue fighting for it.
