As the general counsel, Karen Petrulakis is Wellesley’s principal legal officer, with overall responsibility for the vision and leadership of the College’s legal strategy. Responsibilities include:
- providing legal advice and counsel to the president, the Board of Trustees, and other community members on significant matters affecting the College
- participating as a strategic partner to the Senior Leadership team
- developing recommendations for how best to execute legal services at Wellesley to provide strong, ongoing support for academic initiatives and programs while minimizing institutional risk
- overseeing the Office of Risk Management and Compliance and the College’s policies.

The Registered Agent designated to accept service of process on behalf of Wellesley College is Corporation Service Company, 84 State Street, Boston, MA 02109. Any service via a summons, complaint, or subpoena, should be directed to the Registered Agent.
