Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellowship - expected direct application deadline

Eligible: seniors and recent graduates (those who earned their undergraduate degrees between spring 2020 and spring 2022) who are U.S. citizens or eligible to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program.

The Cleveland Foundation, the world’s first community foundation, launched the Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellowship program in spring 2016 to offer emerging young leaders from across the country the skills and networks needed to create the community they envision and jumpstart a career in public service. The program includes a 12-month, full-time paid placement at a selected public sector agency in Cleveland, providing meaningful career-related work experience. The fellowship includes a $35,000 salary with health benefits.  See website for additional details.

Echoing Green - expected fall cycle direct application deadline

Eligible: applicants must be fluent in English and able to commit to working full-time on their organization (so usually graduating seniors, graduating graduate/professional students, and alumnae - but US citizenship not required).

Echoing Green is "the Fellowship for innovators, instigators, pioneers, and rebels." Echoing Green offers seed-funding (up to $90,000) and support for social entrepreneurs. The program is looking for visionary leaders who are advancing racial justice and upending structural oppression globally. Udall Native American Congressional Internships - expected direct application deadline

The Native American Congressional Internship Program provides American Indian and Alaska Native students with the opportunity to gain practical experience with the federal legislative process in order to understand first-hand the government-to-government relationship between Tribes and the federal government. The internship is funded by the Native Nations Institute for Leadership, Management, and Policy.

James Madison Fellowships - direct application deadline

Eligible: undergraduates, graduating seniors, and alumnae who are U.S. citizens or nationals and who plan to become teachers of American history, American government, or social studies.

James Madison Graduate Fellowships support two years of graduate study leading to a Master’s degree for those who plan to become teachers, and are interested in teaching American history, American government, or any other social studies class where they will teach topics on the Constitution in grades 7–12.  (Please note the deadline for this fellowship is 5:00 pm Central Standard Time.)
