Eligible: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients who will graduate in 2022 or have graduated in 2019 or later.

Lead for America selects, trains, and places our nation’s most promising young leaders in two-year paid fellowships in local governments as a means of strengthening America’s public institutions, supporting our local communities, and cultivating a new generation of transformational public service leaders.

James Madison Fellowships - direct application deadline

Eligible: undergraduates, graduating seniors, and alumnae who are U.S. citizens or nationals and who plan to become teachers of American history, American government, or social studies.

Jerome A. Schiff Fellowship - application deadline

Eligible: Wellesley students enrolled in a 360 in the fall or intending to enroll in a 360 in spring.

A generous gift from the Jerome A. Schiff Charitable Trust allows Wellesley to support students pursuing independent research projects through the senior Honors thesis program.  The fellowships are awarded on the basis of merit, and the number of fellows each year is determined by available funding and the number of qualified applicants.  Please note applications are due at 5:00 pm EST.

Humanity in Action Fellowships - expected direct application deadline

Eligible: Current undergraduate and graduate university and college students, as well as recent graduates (within the last two years), who are passionate about civic engagement, diversity and human rights are invited to apply.

The Humanity in Action Fellowship brings together international groups of Fellows to study minority rights and produce original research exploring how and why individuals and societies, past and present, have resisted intolerance and protected democratic values. Immigrant Justice Corps Community Fellowships - expected direct application deadline

Eligible: applicants must be eligible for work authorization in the U.S. for the full two years of the fellowship (DACA recipients are welcome to apply to Immigrant Justice Corps, and comprise a significant percentage of the Fellows named each year). They must speak another language in addition to English (Spanish is in the highest demand, but Fellows who speak Mandarin, Haitian Creole, French, Arabic, Korean, and Urdu have been named). Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellowship - expected direct application deadline

The Cleveland Foundation, the world’s first community foundation, launched the Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellowship program in spring 2016 to offer emerging young leaders from across the country the skills and networks needed to create the community they envision and jumpstart a career in public service. The program includes a 12-month, full-time paid placement at a selected public sector agency in Cleveland, providing meaningful career-related work experience.
