
Midday Muse: Randall Hodgkinson
Celebrated pianist Randall Hodgkinson performs Bach’s iconic Goldberg Variations.
Randall Hodgkinson, pianist, is the Grand Prize Winner of the International American Music Competition sponsored by Carnegie Hall and the Rockefeller Foundation. He has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras including those of Atlanta, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Boston, and Cleveland, and has performed internationally in Italy and Iceland. A core artist of the Worcester Chamber Music Society, he is also active in duo repertoire with his wife, pianist Leslie Amper.
His festival credits include Blue Hill, BargeMusic, Chestnut Hill Concerts, Seattle, and Santa Fe Chamber Music Festivals. A committed advocate for new music, he premiered Gardner Read’s Piano Concerto at the Eastman School of Music. Hodgkinson is on the piano faculty at the New England Conservatory and Wellesley College.
Recordings appear on Albany, New World, and Northeastern Records.
The Midday Muse series is thrilled to have Hodgkinson perform the complete Bach Goldberg Variations and Chopin's Sonata #3 in B minor, Op. 58.
