On Thursday, March 9, the Slater International Center celebrated its 50th anniversary and International Women’s Day. Students, alumnae, faculty, staff, and former and current executive board members enjoyed dinner followed by student performances, remarks from students and alumnae, and a slideshow featuring photos from Slater over the years.
Ekaterina “Rin” Tsavalyuk ’24, a Slater student assistant from Russia who spoke at the event, reflected on her experience working with the center. “It was such an honor to celebrate Slater’s 50th anniversary with everyone,” she said. “Slater became a very special place and community for me. I got to meet many current students and alums, work with different offices, and share the international student experience through our programs and newsletters. I’m especially thankful for all the mentorship and support the Slater staff provided me during these past three years. My time at Wellesley would not have been full without Slater.”
