Calderwood Seminars in Public Writing

  • Academic Life
A Wellesley College student raises her hand in a seminar class while professor looks on

Optional—but highly desirable—capstone courses for juniors and seniors, designed to develop your written voice for a broad audience. Highly collaborative, spanning the full range of disciplines (recent offerings have included: Music in Public, Psychology in the Public Interest, and Environmental Synthesis and Communication), and capable of changing the way you think about language, communication, your major, and your future. Students who have taken the course tend to say things like “I loved everything about it,” “the most beneficial class I’ve taken,” and “the professor allowed me to build a bridge between my life as a student and my new career.”
