President Paula Johnson

As Wellesley’s 14th president, and the first Black woman in this role, President Paula Johnson is deeply committed to ensuring that all women have the opportunity to thrive. A women’s health pioneer, she is a cardiologist who was a professor at Harvard Medical School and The Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, where she led research to meet the unique and unrecognized health needs of women. She infuses her work at Wellesley with that same visionary spirit, as we prepare the next generation of women to make a difference in the world.
