Serenity Hughes, finding a family
- Alumnae
At Wellesley she received a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship to conduct research on the Drill music scene in Chicago. She’s currently working at Google as a diversity, equity, and inclusion program manager. What shaped her time at Wellesley was working at Harambee House— a space for students of African descent— with Dr. Tracey Cameron. “Dr. Cameron was probably one of the most important people in my life at Wellesley. Having a mentor who was there for me, producing events with other students, being surrounded by so much love—that made my experience 2,423,423,423,423 times better. I had a family at Wellesley.” Class of 2018.
