Laura Wood Cantopher ’84
- 1980s
The gifts of my Wellesley education extend far beyond my four years on campus. Of course I learned about a variety of subjects ranging from art history to Victorian literature, but I also learned to be a leader and a member of a community. My “Wellesley community” is the gift that keeps on giving.
Upon graduating in 1984, I became a Wellesley volunteer. The friends I’ve made range from the Class of 1950 to 2026. I’ve met alumnae at work and cultural events, in airports, and gazing at the statue of David in Florence. I even have a Wellesley niece in the Class of 2013. Wellesley women inspire and challenge me, push me to think and strive; they understand me.
There is a thread that binds us to one another, even when we disagree. Wellesley is a place. But it is so much more.
