Healthy You
“Healthy” means different things to different people. To help you meet your specific needs and goals, we offer a variety of benefits and perks—including an array of insurance plans, virtual and in-person fitness options, and plenty of time off.
- Harvard Pilgrim Health Plans: HMO or PPO plus HSA
- Prescription coverage
We offer prescription coverage through OptumRx, which delivers medications to you.
- Ovia Health
For reproductive health, starting a family, healthy pregnancy, balancing life as a working parent, and managing menopause, Ovia Health’s digital platform provides continuous support.
- Transgender health services
Our transgender health services include surgery, related physician and behavioral health visits, and outpatient prescription drugs.
- Emotional and behavioral support
Through Harvard Pilgrim, AllOne Health EAP, and meQuilibrium, we offer several options for supporting emotional and behavioral well-being, from a traditional in-person setting to virtual and digital platforms.
- Fitness
- We offer free access to our on-campus fitness center and pool as well as weekday exercise classes for faculty and staff.
- We provide free access to virtual yoga, tai chi, and more through Ompractice.
- Harvard Pilgrim provides partial reimbursement for other fitness center memberships and weight-loss programs.

- As part of the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule set forth by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (referred to collectively as the “Tri-Agencies”), group health plans and health insurance issuers are required to make available to the public negotiated rates for all covered items with in-network providers, and historical payments to and billed charges from, out-of-network providers through machine-readable files (MRFs) posted on an internet website, updated monthly. These files will permit the public to have access to health plan payment information that can be used to understand health plan pricing and the cost for health care services.
The files that are posted will include:- In-network provider negotiated rate files.
- Out-of-network provider historic allowed amount files.
- Table of Contents files.

We offer dental coverage through two Delta Dental plans. After-hours and emergency virtual visits are available through TeleDentistry.com
We offer vision coverage through EyeMed.
- Administrative and union employees are eligible for vacation, personal days, and sick time. The amount of time off is based on the employee’s role and the number of years worked at the College. For example:
- Non-exempt administrative staff employees are eligible for three weeks of vacation plus personal time upon hire.
- Exempt administrative staff are eligible for four weeks of vacation plus personal time upon hire.
- Year-round IMSEUA Union employees are eligible for two weeks of vacation upon hire and three weeks of vacation after five years of service, plus personal time.
- All employees enjoy a generous paid holiday schedule.
Some positions are eligible for flexible hours and/or telecommuting, subject to departmental needs and approval from the department head.
We offer help managing stress, improving health and well-being, and boosting productivity and performance through meQuilibrium, a digital coaching platform.
Wellthy supports you in taking care of your children, parents, and/or yourself; assisting with physical and mental health, aging, and special needs; veteran support; financial hardship; and child care.
Prosperous You
Wherever you are financially—starting to save, buying a home, approaching retirement—we want you to crush your goals. We offer substantial retirement plan contributions, free financial planning and student loan advice through Savi, extremely low-cost access to a network of attorneys, and more.
- You can start making pre-tax contributions to the Wellesley College 403(b) retirement plan on your first day.
- The College’s contribution for eligible employees begins after one year of service at a rate of 9% of eligible compensation. The College matches up to 50% of the first 3% an employee contributes to the plan.
- College contributions are 100% vested. You have a right to the value of these contributions when you leave or retire, regardless of your number of years of service at the College.
Taking public transportation to Wellesley? You can use pretax dollars to pay for eligible public transit expenses.
Through HealthEquity, we offer two options for managing qualified medical expenses:
- HSA contributions are made from pretax payroll deductions and can be withdrawn tax-free to pay for qualified expenses. Unused funds roll over to the next year. Wellesley College also contributes to your HSA. Enrollment in the PPO Plus HSA Plan is required to participate in the HSA.
- FSA contributions are made from pretax payroll deductions and can be withdrawn tax-free for qualified expenses for yourself, your spouse, and your dependents. Unused funds are forfeited at the end of the calendar year.
- We pay for basic coverage through Lincoln Financial Group for eligible employees.
- If eligible, you may elect additional coverage for yourself and/or your spouse.
We provide short- and long-term disability insurance to eligible employees.
We offer free one-on-one consultations with independent certified financial planners who can assist you with general financial, investment, and retirement planning.
Through free TIAA seminars and in-person consultations, you can learn how to optimize your finances.
Upon retirement, employees over age 60 with more than 10 years of benefits-eligible service can continue to receive health and dental benefits through the College until age 65.
Savi, a digital platform sponsored by TIAA, can help you navigate student loan repayment and forgiveness options.
After three years of continuous full-time employment, you may receive a 50% remission of Wellesley tuition for your eligible children or spouse.
Through MetLife, we offer a voluntary legal plan that gives you access to a large network of attorneys.
We offer pet insurance through MetLife.

- Once per year, you and your supervisor discuss your achievements, challenges, and short- and long-term goals and projections.
