Admission

The Child Study Center is open during Wellesley College's academic year, early September through the third week in May. There are three classrooms: Youngest, Middle, and Oldest. The age of the child on August 31st determines classroom eligibility. Because of the observational and research components of our Center, we typically enroll an equal number of boys and girls with a range of birth months within each classroom

Enrollment Options

Youngest Group (2-3 year olds)

Our youngest class has nine children daily.

There are three different enrollment options offered:

• 5-Day Enrollment: Monday-Friday mornings, 8:30-11:30*
• 2-Day Enrollment: Tuesday & Thursday mornings 8:30-11:30*
• 3-Day Enrollment: *Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings 8:30-11:30*

*Families with children in the Youngest Group have the option to enroll their child until 1:00pm on the days they attend, except for Wednesdays, which is always an early release day for the entire Center.

Middle Group (3-4 year olds) and Oldest Group (4 -5 year olds)

Our Middle and Oldest Classrooms have up to sixteen children.

5-Day Enrollment only.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 8:30am-1:00pm

Wednesdays, 8:30-11:30am.

Birth date cut-offs for the 2024-2025 school year:

• Youngest Class: 8/31/2022

  • Confirm your child will be 2 yrs of age on or before 8/31/2024

• Middle Class: 8/31/2021

  • Confirm your child will be 3 yrs of age on or before 8/31/2024

• Oldest Class: 8/31/2020

  • Confirm your child will be 4 yrs of age on or before 8/31/2024

As the laboratory preschool at Wellesley College, acceptance priorities are as follows:

1. Children of benefited Wellesley College faculty/staff members with concurrent siblings enrolled at the CSC.

2. Children of families with concurrent siblings enrolled at the CSC.

3. Children of benefited Wellesley College faculty/staff members (with/without a formerly enrolled sibling)

4. Children of families with siblings formerly enrolled at the CSC.

5. Children of families from local communities.
