FoA DC: Tour of Carolyn Alper Collection

Home of Carolyn Alper

This is a very special opportunity to visit the home and art collection of Carolyn Alper, who has a collection of 20th century American drawings, paintings, sculpture and furniture.  Artists represented are among American masters of the 20th century, including an early sculpture by Martin Puryear. Carolyn Alper is an artist who studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and under Morris Louis and Gene Davis.  In 1971, Carolyn and three fellow artists founded the Foundry Gallery, which continues to exhibit works by local artists. The apartment is four blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro. Those with confirmed reservations will be provided with full information.

Details: Space is limited.  Friends of Art members will be given priority through May 6. 

Event costs: Recent Grads (2012-2016) $10; Friends of Art members $20; Guests $30 (space available).
