The Anchor Point Fellowships in Global Leadership program at Wellesley College was founded in 2009 by Amy Batchelor '88 and Brad Feld. Each year the program chooses up to 10 Wellesley students who seek to cultivate global leadership abilities through Wellesley’s motto, Non ministrari sed Ministrare—not to be served, but to serve. Fellows intern in a setting outside of their country of origin and focus on a topic of global consequence.

The Anchor Point Global Network provides a community for Anchor Point Fellows to call on each other as a resource for career development, collective action, and solidarity. An intergenerational and multinational group of women, Fellows gather every two to three years to examine and develop together the new leadership models required to address the multidisciplinary and increasingly borderless issues of poverty, climate change, and immigration; women’s health, education, and opportunities; violence in its many forms; and the management of water and other critical resources, among many other issues.

Globally-Focused Summer Internship

Anchor Point Fellowships provide flexible funding that supports students from a variety of academic backgrounds to intern in a field of their choice. International internships are preferred; however, domestic internships can also be accepted if the student is working on global issues.

Anchor Point Conference

Anchor Point Fellowship is a professional network designed to support fellows’ personal and professional development. Fellows, who have completed internships, have the opportunity to meet at a conference held every two to three years to reconnect and to explore topics of global importance. Conference travel and related expenses are supported through The Anchor Point Foundation. The next Conference will be held in August 2027.
