Trudi Lipson Benford ’91
- 1990s

As Wellesley celebrates 150 years, I find myself reflecting on the extraordinary gift of being part of this legacy—not only as a member of the class of 1991, but now as the mother of a yellow class of ’27 student. My own Wellesley years gave me friendships that have lasted a lifetime—my “Julies” and I have met in person every single year since graduation. Together we’ve walked through joy and heartbreak, always buoyed by the strength of this sisterhood.
Now, my daughter Audrey walks the same paths, lives in the same dorms, and is creating her own circle of remarkable friends. Seeing her embrace the same traditions I love reminds me that Wellesley’s magic isn’t just in its beauty or academic excellence—it’s in the people.
Here’s to 150 years of bold women, enduring friendship, and a community that will carry us—and our daughters—into the future.
