Nomination Process

In April 2022, the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022 will nominate a new Young Alumnae Trustee who will be put forth to the College's Board of Trustees for confirmation to serve from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025.

  • Those eligible to participate in this year's nomination process are the members of the current graduating class (2022) and the members of the two most recent classes (2020 and 2021).
  • Those who are interested in serving as the Young Alumnae Trustee should complete the Young Alumnae Trustee application. Faculty, staff, and other alums can and should reach out to potential candidates to encourage them to run by sharing the application link. There is no additional form to nominate someone else. The application to begin the process must be submitted directly by the young alum who is committed to serve if nominated and confirmed.
  • In order to be considered as a candidate for the Young Alumnae Trustee, all applicants must complete an application that includes responses to three short answer questions, two letters of recommendation, and the applicant’s one-page resume. At least one of the applicant’s recommendations must be from a current Wellesley student, an alum, or a member of Wellesley's faculty or staff.
  • The three short answer questions on the application are:
  1. What is your vision for Wellesley College in the next 10 years and how do you see the Board of Trustees helping to shape that? (150 word limit)
  2. What experience, knowledge and attributes do you have that would make you an effective Young Alumnae Trustee? (150 word limit)
  3. Why would you like to be a member of the Wellesley College Board of Trustees? (100 word limit)
  • All Young Alumnae Trustees application materials are due by December 31, 2021.
  • The Nominating Committee of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association (WCAA) Board will review all applications and select a short list of applicants to interview.
  • A final group of 5-7 candidates will be on the 2022 ballot. No campaigning is allowed, please see the full electioneering policy. The ballot will be distributed electronically in April 2022 to all those eligible to vote (members of the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022). The winning nominee will be the one who receives the most votes.
