Wellesley is grateful for YOU!
Thank you for your gift to Wellesley last fiscal year! The generous support from our alumnae, parents, and friends was truly remarkable. You created extraordinary opportunities for our faculty and inspired our students to pursue their passions.
With your help our students discovered the vastness of their intellects and abilities through our rigorous liberal arts curriculum. We admitted outstanding students and made it financially possible for them to attend. We changed the face of science and had more seniors graduate with STEM majors than ever before. We enabled a diverse community of individuals to live together and learn from one another. We continued to be a force for progress and change. All thanks to you!

Supporting Our Students

-
2,318 students were enrolled in fall 2023
-
56% identified as people of color
-
322 hailed from 91 countries
-
28.6% identified as underrepresented minorities
-
487 were first-generation college students
-
14% increase in students graduating with a STEM major in the last 10 years
“One of my favorite things at Wellesley is going to all the cultural events. I love how everyone gets to present their culture in different ways and appreciate each other.”
Supporting Financial Aid
Expanding access to education is one of Wellesley’s highest priorities. The College is one of few U.S. institutions of higher education that remain need-blind—meeting 100% of calculated financial need for every enrolled student. This assurance is essential to Wellesley’s ability to attract the highest caliber of applicants regardless of their economic status. This is the most recent available data from fiscal year 2024:
-
55% of students received financial aid
-
$85M total financial aid awarded to students
-
$67K average financial aid award
“I think investing in Wellesley really ends up not just impacting the students, it ends up impacting the world from all the good work we go on to do.”
Supporting Campus Renewal
This year the College embarked on several large-scale renovation projects in addition to working on other campus renewal initiatives. Thanks to your philanthropy, these improvements to all areas of campus life will ensure that the College can continue to provide updated, collaborative spaces in which the Wellesley community can live, work, and learn.
-
Residence Hall Renovations
The renovation of half of Severance Hall in summer 2022 marked the first stage of a $250 million plan to preserve Wellesley’s beloved residence halls and make them greener and more accessible.
-
Clapp Library Renovation
The Margaret Clapp Library has been the heart of the Wellesley campus—a critical center of curious inquiry and intellectual exchange that vitalizes the student experience.
-
Health and Counseling Center Renovation
Wellesley is committed to the holistic success of our students in the classroom and beyond. Supporting their health and wellness is foundational to achieving this goal.
“Wellesley is so collaborative and empowering. I’ve engaged with some of the sharpest minds I’ve ever met in my life—all in an environment where we are comfortable taking risks.”
