John Wall

John N. Wall is Professor of English Literature at NC State University, where he teaches courses and does research in early modern English poetry and drama, the English Bible, and the digital humanities. Wall is Co-Principal Investigator for the award-winning digital humanities project The Virtual St Paul’s Cathedral Project, funded by grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Twice chosen as a Fellow at the National Humanities Center, he has also been a Visiting Fellow at Wolfson College, in Cambridge University, an NEH Fellow at the Folger Institute, and a Mellon Fellow in the Humanities at Duke University. Wall is the author of numerous books and scholarly articles, including Transformations of the Word (Georgia, 1988) and George Herbert: The Country Parson and The Temple (Paulist Press, 1981). He received his Ph.D. degree from Harvard University in 1973.
