A lone poster of beautiful Lake Waban image arrived my junior year of high school – no explanation. What is this Wellesley place? I asked my mother, not even pronouncing it correctly! In the end I only applied to Wellesley. My four years on campus were transformational – life-course affirming experiences – that in fact are life-long. Junior year at Wellesley, I was on that year’s admissions poster.
Wellesley is a collection of encouragements:
women are
intelligent, capable, creative, thoughtful, sensitive, humorous,
doers, makers, leaders, and supporters
in the world.
Wellesley continues to provide the springboard from which all is possible, from which I believe in myself, and take action. Non ministrari, sed ministrare anchors me – confirming my belief in the power and importance of women’s voices as critical global leaders. Service through Wellesley connects me with amazing and inspiring women who imbue in me the continued desire to serve.
