It’s okay if things don’t turn out exactly the way you expect... and as I grew throughout my time at Wellesley, I discovered that I also wanted to gain experience in more people-oriented clinical roles.

Sophie Hill ’20 & Marina Hostrop ’20
Although ROTC culture was very different from Wellesley life, it was a contrast I really enjoyed, and I felt it made me more well-rounded. It instilled in me a much stronger sense of integrity, authenticity, and compassion that I wouldn’t have gotten elsewhere.

By living in vegan communities and exploring their foodscapes—the places, people, production processes, and meanings associated with their food—I hope to understand the lived experiences of being vegan across cultures and find ways to adapt veganism to various cultural contexts and customs.
