Summer 2021 COVID Career & Grad School Prep Fund

The Summer 2021 COVID Career & Grad School Prep Fund is intended to help students with expenses related to career and graduate school preparation that are incurred during summer 2021 (April 1, 2021 - August 31, 2021).. The Fund is available in 2021 only, in recognition of the unique challenges caused by the on-going pandemic. These funds will not be offered in the future.

The Fund will offer grants of up to $400 for students to use toward eligible expenses related to career and graduate school preparation. Some examples of eligible expenses include:

  • Registration fees for career-related conferences (travel expenses are not included at this time due to COVID restrictions)
  • Software needed to create a professional portfolio or build professional skills (hardware is not included)
  • Professional development summer courses
  • Graduate school test preparation courses, books, and registration fees
  • Graduate school application fees and transcript fees

* Note that students are also expected to apply for any fee waivers that are offered.

This list of examples is not exhaustive, and students may wish to use a grant to cover other expenses related to career and graduate school preparation. We encourage applicants to use their application to make a compelling case for how a proposed expense will further their professional goals. Accepted students will be asked to supply a receipt of their spending by August 31, 2021.

Eligibility

Currently enrolled Wellesley students, including 2021 graduates, (on-campus or remote) are eligible for Fund grants. GPA is not a factor in the decision making process.
