Jacquelina (Jackie) Marquez

Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life

Rev. Jacquelina (Jackie) Marquez M. Div., MAPC

Jackie serves as Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life at Wellesley College. She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Jackie has a spiritually rich, ecumenical background with roots in Catholicism, Pentecostal traditions, and a Presbyterian (P.C.U.S.A.) seminary education. She received her Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University’s Institute of Pastoral Studies.

Jackie is a higher education administrator with over 14 years of experience in student affairs, specifically advocating for and supporting students from historically marginalized communities. Her strengths include staff supervision, team management, strategic planning, policy development, cross-department collaboration, and vision implementation. She is a subject matter expert in religious diversity and inclusion work who is interested in collaborations that intersect with her career experiences in team development, cultural competence, spirituality, and student support services.

Jackie is deeply rooted in her Mexican-American heritage and connection to Chicago, her hometown. She has served as adjunct faculty in theological institutions, helping to educate and inspire the next generation of leaders. She contributes nationally to the field of chaplaincy in higher education through her involvement in the Association for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Life in Higher Education (ACSLHE). Jackie is passionate about helping people live deeply in relationship with and knowledge of God’s grace and love. She believes and works towards unity among Christians and is dedicated to interfaith dialogue and collaboration.
