Operations & Maintenance

Who We Are

The Facilities Operations & Maintenance department and its team of approximately 145 full-time employees supports Wellesley College’s administration, faculty, staff and student population by maintaining the day-to-day operations and appearance of the more than 100 buildings on campus and over 500 acres of land. We have a strong commitment to customer service and integrity for all of the institution's learning, living and working environments.

What We Do

Wellesley’s Facilities Operations & Maintenance department manages the College’s buildings, campus, and essential services by ensuring that all academic and residential spaces are regularly maintained and cleaned; performing preventative building and equipment maintenance; ensuring all campus incoming and ongoing mail is delivered in a timely manner; operating the College’s power plant, which provides power, heat, and cooling to the entire campus; and overseeing 500 acres of Olmsted-designed landscaped grounds, including a private nine-hole golf course, which is one of the oldest college courses in the country, with its origins dating back to 1893. Operations & Maintenance supports the College's mission by taking a proactive approach to identifying and addressing deferred operational projects and maintenance needs across campus.
