Wellesley Community Conference

What are the conversations that we could be having but aren’t?  Who are the people we could be meeting but haven’t?  In the last two years of pandemic living at Wellesley, we’ve missed something.  We have grown accustomed to our masks and our distance, and what once felt easy about being with one another can now feel difficult or scary even. You’re not alone in that feeling.

We’ve missed something in these two years of pandemic living, and it is time for us to find one another again.

There are over 3,580 people that compose the tapestry of Wellesley College.  That is 3,580 people with stories and histories, ways of seeing and ways of being that make our community the incredible, irreplaceable place that it is. Through the sharing of story, we offer our hopes and aspirations for the most abundant version of Wellesley: one where each of us belongs exactly as we come.

Author Peter Berger writes, "the social fabric of community is formed from an expanding shared sense of belonging.  It is shaped by the idea that only when we are connected and care for the well-being of the whole that a civil and democratic society is created." This Spring, we offer to our beautiful community a chance to be with.  Join us in a celebration of community on Sunday, May 1st from 4:30pm-6pm in Alumnae Hall Auditorium at the Bloom@Wellesley Community Conference.

We are soliciting nominations and submissions. If you know members of our community whom you would like to share their story, vision, and experience in community, send them an anonymous nomination using the google form below. Everyone is encouraged to submit an application, regardless of nomination status. Nominations are due April 8th, and Applications are due April 13th.

We’ve missed each other– the joy of a meaningful conversation, the pause in thought at a provoking question, and the peace of feeling heard and seen. In this time of healing and reconnection, we welcome you to engage in community with the Bloom@Wellesley Conference on Community.

Sincerely,
