Installing a Ricoh Printer/Copier on Windows XP

  1. Download the Windows XP/2000 Ricoh Universal Print Driver here.
  2. Save the file to the desktop and when download is complete double-click on the z34011L6.exe file.
  3. WinZip Self-Extractor will pop up. In the Unzip to folder window, type C:\. Hit Unzip when the extractor is finished, close WinZip.
  4. Windows XP: Go to Start > Printers and Faxes and click on the Add Printer icon on the left of the window.
  5. The Add Printer Wizard window will appear. Click Next .
  6. Select Local Printer , uncheck Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer , and click Next .
  7. In the Select a Printer Port window, choose Create a new port . From Type list, select Standard TCP/IP Port . Click Next . Click Next again on the confirmation screen.
  8. In the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard window, type the queue name of the Ricoh in your department (e.g., PGRH1A ). Click Next .
  9. The window that appears should show the queue name, as well as RICOH Network Printer C model as the Adapter Type. Click Finish .
  10. Wait a bit until the Add Printer Wizard gives you a list of Manufacturers and Printers. Click the Have Disk button below the Printers field.
  11. The Install from Disk window will appear. In the copy manufacturer's file from field, type C:\32\disk1 , then click browse. The file oemsetup.inf should appear in the File Name field. Highlight it and click Open .
  12. In the Install From Disk window, click OK .
  13. In the Add printer Wizard window, click PCL6 Driver for Universal Print , then click Next .
  14. In the Name Your Printer section, change the name of your printer to Ricoh Printer (you may add the queue name and the model number)
  15. In the Name Your Printer section, where it says Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?, click No . Click Next .
  16. In the Printer Sharing section, click Next .
  17. In the Print Test Page section, click Next to print a test page.
  18. In the Completing the Add Printer Wizard section, click Finish .
  19. The Add Printer Wizard will disappear.
  20. Windows is now configured to print to the Ricoh Printer/Copiers.
  21. You may now delete the z34011L6.exe file on your computer's desktop.

Printing options for the Ricoh Printer/Copier

To set up the specific options for your particular Ricoh Printer/Copier model please follow the instructions below.

  1. Click on Start
  2. Click on Printers and Faxes
  3. Right-click on your Ricoh Printer
  4. Select Properties from the pop up menu
  5. Click on the Accessories tab
    1. Please wait for the driver to find your printers options. This may take a few minutes
  6. After the Options pane becomes available in the Accessories tab you can use your printer/ copiers specific options
