2020 Wellesley College Flu Clinic

MedBar through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care will be visiting Wellesey College to provide onsite flu shots. The flu shots will be held at the Davis Plaza Museum, outdoor tent. The dates are as followed:

Coronavirus news from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care

Will Harvard Pilgrim cover the cost related to COVID-19 testing?

To facilitate members’ ability to receive necessary testing for suspected COVID-19 exposure, and until further notice, Harvard Pilgrim will provide the following coverage for our plans:

  • COVID-19 Testing – covered in full (including office, urgent care and emergency room visits for COVID-19 testing).
  • COVID-19 Treatment - covered with no copay. Applicable deductible and coinsurance apply.
  • Telemedicine –All out-of-pocket costs for coronavirus-related telehealth visits will be waived for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.
  • Members will have access to out-of-network providers for the initial COVID-19 test when no in-network providers are available.
  • No prior authorization and referrals are required, where applicable, so that members can get timely medically necessary testing and treatment for COVID-19.

Is telehealth an option?

Telemedicine services, such as video visits with Doctor On Demand, are available to Harvard Pilgrim members. If you have concerns related to COVID-19, you can check in with a health care provider from home (via smartphone, tablet or computer) to determine whether you need to take further action and to avoid long emergency room waits. Telehealth visits may help limit the spread of the disease. It may also be an option for individuals in self-imposed quarantine to check in with a health care provider.

Optum Rx is our prescription drug program. To meet the clinical needs of our members and comply with applicable CDC guidance, as well as federal, state, and local government requirements, OptumRx Clinical Affairs is allowing members to refill their maintenance medications early to ensure they have an uninterrupted supply of medication during the COVID-19 threat.

COVID-19 Pandemic Major Disaster Leave Sharing Plan

This program is designed to support employees of the College in their efforts to assist one another in times of need caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, which has been declared to be a major disaster in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  

The program creates a leave bank that allows employees to donate unused vacation time that other employees who have exhausted their vacation leave can use when COVID-19 Pandemic related reasons require them to be absent from work.  

Leave donors should submit the Donor Request Form to Human Resources.

To request a leave bank transfer, staff members must complete the Leave Recipient Request Form.

Certified Financial Planner

The College gives you the opportunity to schedule a private financial counseling appointment with an independent, certified financial planner (CFP). These CFPs come to campus to meet with you on general financial and retirement planning issues and questions. The College pays the full cost of one visit per year for you.
