Remote Instruction Support: Library Resources


Many library resources are already available online and faculty can add links to these resources in their course sites. Most electronic resources are restricted to current Wellesley College users. To get access to electronic Wellesley College Library resources from off-campus, if you are not using VPN you will need your 16-digit Library Number from the MyWellesley portal or your OneCard. You may also contact the library at and we will help you find the resources you need, or for students working on a thesis, you can contact your thesis advisor for help.

To access e-resources from off-campus through MyWellesley:

  • Login to MyWellesley and click on the Library tab

    • From here you can use SuperSearch or select the database you want on the Databases A-Z list and should not be prompted for additional authentication.

To access e-resources from off-campus using your OneCard:

  • Use SuperSearch or select the database you want on the Databases A-Z list. Search for the individual item you wish to access and click on it.

  • When prompted, enter your last name (e.g. Smith) and 16-digit OneCard number (starting with 6010…).

  • Note: If your OneCard number is illegible or not working, please login to MyWellesley and click the Library tab to see your 16-digit number. For questions or further help, call x2166 or contact AskUs.

For access to Siku Quanshu and the New York Times Group Pass, you must use VPN.

To find resources by subject

  • Use Supersearch for ebooks, video, or articles

  • Use our Research Guides to find the best databases to search for your topic

  • When you find an article you want, use the   Find it @ Wellesley button in the record to:

    • link to the full text if it’s available to Wellesley

    • request a scanned copy of the article if we don’t have it at all 

Please contact if there is content you or your students need for the course and to which you do not now have remote access.  Depending on what is requested, it may take several days to make it accessible so please give us as much advance notice as possible. Because of the current unique situation, it is not possible for us to digitize physical materials now. However, you should still send in your requests by emailing and we will do our best to locate and license an electronic resource if it exists. You may also consult with your liaison librarians if no digital edition of a resource exists.

Library books currently checked out to you will not be due until the end of the semester at the earliest.
